Just Another Number...

(For my girl friend, who can't express what's in her mind.)

Like every other meet and greet
The talk began with 'Yo!'
One movie and a cozy conversation
Was enough to get her high from low.
Next morning her roomie asked,
"Well!? How was he?"
"Some one I'd like to meet again!"
She said, sipping her cuppa tea.
Then dinners, dance and chilling happened,
And a lot more in between....
They choose to call it 'Different',
Cos why name something so clear and clean.
Meetings happened almost every other day,
Exchanged messages and video calls in galore,
Thoughts echoed in each drag,
With food, Drinks, shows and so much more.
She was like mouthpiece of a headphone,
Who heard his problems of family pair
And a reliable ATM machine,
For food, police chalaan and bike care.
He was like the sun shine,
Who could light up her gloomy day,
Made her forgot the mayhem of the world,
With no words to say.
Soon came the distance,
And rules came into play,
Not sure what started this,
But suddenly things took a different way.
He is said to have gone busy,
Worried about things like time and place,
But this never happened before,
There was a need for his space.
He asked her to not attach any emotions,
Thought her feelings are growing,
But she was exactly where she wanted,
With a friend for company and chilling.
He couldn't take things further,
And neither she wanted him to,
Instead to stay here and now,
Was that too much to do?
It reminds her of a similar past,
A chapter shut and closed in twenty fifteen,
But this one felt like the same mistake
Only much bitter and hurt she had last been.

A girl, who was a weekend getaway pass...
And not someone who would last.
A girl, as a date on the dance floor...
But not a knock on her door.
A girl, who will cook and share...
But not someone for care.
A girl, with a fridge full of chilled beer...
But not someone to say things clear.
She was a GIRL, with a home to slumber...
But to him, she was Just another number.
