Stillness

So when you said
"I am engaged!"
And I stayed quiet...
More than words
I heard stillness
Wobbling in my stomach
I felt the walls
of my throat deflate
and though standing
on the ground
My lungs needed air
For I was drowning
in the spiral of souvenirs
we made all this time.
I didn't express anything.
It didn't mean
I had nothing to say.
